Planning Your Safari Is Simple

A smooth path from dream to departure.

Our enquiry and booking process is designed to gather the details that matter — from travel dates and budget to rooming, dietary needs, special requests, and your ideal safari interests.

1

Share your plans

Tell us your travel dates, destinations, budget, and preferences.

2

We personalize your journey

We design a safari around your interests, pace, and comfort.

3

Confirm and travel

Once approved, we coordinate the details so you can travel with confidence.

Learn

Plan, pack, and travel with confidence.

Our learning centre is designed so you arrive in Kenya already feeling at home. Below you'll find season-by-season planning guidance, packing essentials, responsible-travel principles, and practical advice on health, safety, photography, and cultural etiquette.

Seasons

When is the best time to experience the Great Migration?

The Mara migration season runs July to October, with the most dramatic river crossings typically between August and September. Calving season on the southern Serengeti plains unfolds January to March — a quieter but equally spectacular alternative.

Packing

What to pack for a luxury East African safari

Neutral layered clothing in khaki, olive, or stone. A warm fleece for early mornings. Wide-brim hat, polarised sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent with DEET, a soft duffel (not a hard suitcase — domestic flights have a 15 kg limit), and a camera body with a 100–400 mm lens.

Eco Travel

How to travel beautifully and leave a lighter footprint

Choose conservancy-based camps that pay community land leases. Avoid single-use plastics — our camps provide refillable bottles. Support Maasai-owned cultural visits. And where possible, offset your international flights through verified conservation projects.

Health

Health, vaccines, and malaria prevention

Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from a country with risk of transmission. Routine vaccines (MMR, tetanus, hepatitis A & B, typhoid) should be up to date. Kenya's safari areas are malarial — consult a travel clinic 4–6 weeks before departure about prophylaxis.

Photography

Getting the shot — a guide to safari photography

Golden hour is everything: be out of camp before sunrise and stay until the last light. Shoot at eye level with the animal. Expect dust — bring lens cloths and sealed bags. A bean-bag or door-mount beats a tripod in a 4x4. Ask your guide's permission before photographing people.

Culture

Cultural etiquette in Kenya & East Africa

A warm "Jambo" goes a long way. Always ask before photographing people. Modest dress is appreciated in towns and villages. Tipping is customary — plan roughly USD 10–15 per guest per day for guides, and USD 5 for camp staff. Swahili greetings are a gift your hosts will remember.

Visas & Entry

Visas, entry, and travel documents

Most travellers now enter Kenya via the online eTA system (apply at least 72 hours before departure). Passports must be valid for 6 months beyond your departure date with at least two blank pages. East Africa Tourist Visas cover Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda for multi-country itineraries.

Family Travel

Is safari right for children and families?

Yes — with the right camp. Many lodges welcome children aged 6+, with dedicated "bush buddy" programs, junior ranger experiences, family tents, and earlier dinner service. We tailor every family itinerary around interests, pace, and the comfort of the youngest traveller.

Currency & Money

Currency, cards, and tipping

The Kenyan Shilling (KES) is the local currency, but US dollars are widely accepted at lodges, camps, and for park fees (clean bills dated 2013 onward). Visa and Mastercard are broadly accepted. M-Pesa, Kenya's mobile money system, is pervasive — ask us to set this up on arrival.

Travel with Confidence

Professional guidance beyond the safari itself.

Health Guidance

Kenya safari health and vaccination guidance, including yellow fever context, routine vaccines, malaria prevention, and travel clinic advice.

Privacy Protection

We handle guest information responsibly and transparently, using secure and professional privacy practices.

Refund Clarity

Our refund process is guided by timing, fairness, and recoverable supplier costs, helping guests understand their options clearly.
